Medical Assistant Program

Medical Assistant Program Diploma Objective

980 clock hours – includes 160 clock hours of externship

26 semester credit hours

  • Routine and Special Lab Procedures
  • Pharmacology/Administration of Medicaments
  • Obstetrics/Gynecology/Pediatrics
  • Infection Control

The ATC Medical Assistant student will learn all aspects of supporting a medical office including all administrative and clinical procedures in clinics or hospitals. ATC Medical Assistant curriculum teaches both the Administrative component and the Clinical Component of the Front and Back Office of a physician’s clinic. Students will have the knowledge, skills and proficiency in office management, accounting and billing, EKG/clinical history/vital signs taking, patient’s exam preparation, phlebotomy, vaccines, routine laboratory procedures, minor surgical procedures, pharmacology, nutrition and infection control. Students will have hands-on experience in a clinical facility during their externship. The graduate student will receive a Medical Assistant Diploma and CPR card.
